1943 - 2026

Beverly Jo Burger was born March 28, 1943, in Auburn, Nebraska. One of three daughters of Arley and Amanda (Kehr) Burger, Beverly grew up in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School.

Beverly worked for a time at the Boeing plant in Seattle, Washington as a typist. Leaving that employment, she returned to Auburn and worked various jobs in the area through the years. Her employers included Big A Auto Parts, SENDS, home health care, and Excel Beef Packing Plant in Rockport, Missouri. Her last and favorite place to work was at Hanson Motors in Auburn.

As a member of the Assembly of God Church, Beverly very much enjoyed helping in the church nursery. She liked to watch Westerns on TV and followed Husker football and Cardinal baseball.

On Monday, May 18, 2026, Beverly was rushed to the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn. She passed away there at the age of 83 years, 1 month, and 20 days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Charles and sisters and brother-in-law Dorothy Kurrelmeyer and Barbara and Eldon Moore.

Beverly is remembered with love by her son John Bensley of Clay Center, KS; daughter-inlaw Amanda Bensley of Lincoln; granddaughter Brylie Bensley; great-nieces Jayne (Scott) Kessler, Jill Bigley; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jackie Gfeller, was held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Casket bearers were Johnny Curttright, Frank Critser, RJ Darling, Tim Pippert, Russ Teten, and Steve Coulter. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery south of Auburn.

Hemmingsen Funeral Home was entrusted with services.
