Susan Helen Bohling, 76, of Auburn, Nebraska was born on April 23, 1950, in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Gustav W. and Helen J. (Michel) Bohling. She grew up on a farm in rural Tecumseh and was baptized May 14, 1950, at St. John Lutheran Church in Sterling, Nebraska by Rev. John Voelk. Susan attended Sterling Public Schools until the age of 10 when she moved to the Martin Luther Home and School in Beatrice, Nebraska. On July 7, 1968, Susan was confirmed by Rev. Calvin Fick at the Martin Luther Home Chapel in Beatrice and her confirmation verse was Matthew 5: 8. She moved to Auburn, Nebraska in October of 1976 and has been with SENDS/APACE to the present. Since 1976, Susan has had many community jobs over the years and has been a presence in the Auburn community. She enjoyed sharing coffee and potlucks at Westbury Heights and Valley View apartments, cleaning the Eagles Club, shopping, embroidery, and traveling, especially to Colorado. She loved watching TV, especially “The Waltons” and “Little House on the Prairie”, listening to music, coloring, and spending time with her family. Susan had a special love for all her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, especially the babies.

Susan passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of seventy-six years and three days. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Irma (Bill) Dieckhoff and Inez (Bill) Nealy, brothers-in-law Glenn Lyman and Alan DeJonge, sister-in-law Arlene Bohling, niece Deb Lerschen, nephew Paul Wilken, and special friend Dale Alexander.

Susan is survived by her brothers: Norman Bohling of rural Table Rock, NE; Lonnie Bohling and wife Carol of North Bend, NE; sisters: Vera Mae Lyman of Lincoln, Joyce DeJonge of Lincoln, 21 nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and SENDS/ APACE family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Warneke officiating.

Visitation will be held from 12- 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Hall Funeral Chapel, 707 15th Street in Auburn. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery in Johnson, Nebraska.

Memorial contributions may be given to APACE in Auburn.
