NANCY L. HARDER

Nancy Lou Harder was born to Joe and Mildred (Bauman) Harder on April 29, 1943 at Ponca, Nebraska. She was baptized May 16, 1943 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg, Nebraska and confirmed June 1, 1958 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ponca, Nebraska by Pastor Oscar Marquardt.
Nancy graduated from Ponca High School in 1961. She then took some business courses in Laramie and Cheyenne, WY. Nancy worked in Human Resources as an assistant to the ENT Federal Credit Union for seven years, for the Wyoming State Government with the Department of Health and Education for 10 years and later as Sheriff’’s secretary for the Dixon County Sheriff’s Office in Ponca, Nebraska.
She lived most of of her life in western Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado until moving back to Nebraska. Nancy married Alan Schultz and to this union two sons Mark and Jarod were born, They later divorced. She married the love of her life, Gary Weidaman on June 17, 1995. He passed away May 10, 2014.
Nancy gave piano lessons to many students over the years which brought her great joy. She enjoyed gardening, but music was really her passion in every congregation where she attended. She ended her career as a church organist at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska.
Nancy passed away January 29, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Center in Beatrice, Nebraska at the earthly age of 82 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, a niece, a nephew and several in-laws.
Nancy is survived by her sons Jarod Schultz and wife Dawn and Mark Schultz and wife Janelle, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Karen Hartman and Linda Rowell, and her church family at St. John’s Lutheran.
Memorial Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Marcel Kohlmeyer officiating. Organist, Loretta Kerchal, accompanied congregational hymns, “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” and “My Faith Looks Up To Thee”. A time of fellowship was held after the service in the church basement. Memorials may go to the family’s choice. Services were entrusted to Wherry Mortuary, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
