BETTY L. (KEOGH) SNYDER

1932 - 2025

Betty Louise (Keogh) Snyder, 93, of rural Talmage, Nebraska was born on October 27, 1932, in Stuart, Nebraska to James Joseph and Josephine Marie (Wahl) Koegh. She grew up in Stuart, North Platte, Oakland, York, and Omaha, Nebraska during her youth. Betty graduated from Omaha Tech High School in 1951 and continued her education receiving a business degree in 1953 from Boyes Van Sant Business School in Omaha. On April 21, 1956, Betty was united in marriage to Melvin “Pee Wee” Snyder in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple welcomed their son, Eugene, to their family in 1958. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and home maker to her family while helping with the farm operations. She was a member at Zion Lutheran Church in Talmage and was baptized on April 7, 1963. Betty was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #246, Tri-Co Extension, 4-H, and Girl Scouts where she served on the various boards of the organizations.

Betty passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Syracuse Hospital in Syracuse, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of 93 years, 1 month, and 24 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin “Pee Wee” Snyder, granddaughter LuvStarr Adkins, and her sisters Jacqueline Bennett, Naomi Jean Keogh, Marijo Highland, Phyllis Owens, and Linda Hinojosa.

Betty is survived by her son Gene Snyder and fiancé Theresa of Mokena, IL; grandchildren: Jesse Snyder and wife Michelle of Brock, NE; Crystal Snyder and significant other Andy Pursel of Nebraska City, William “Will” Snyder and wife Terza of Talmage, NE; Jerimiah Carlson and wife Ashley of Buffalo, MO; Nicholas Snyder and wife Amanda of Talmage, NE; Elijah Snyder of Vandenberg, CA; Mariah Oetting and husband Doug of Council Bluffs, IA; Preston Snyder and significant other Hannah Rovetto of Dunbar, NE; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; her sister Sharon Talley-Dewey of Bellefontaine, OH; sisters-inlaw: Rosella Eaton of Nebraska City, NE; Patricia “Pat” Snyder of Pleasant Dale, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held from noon-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the American Legion Post #246 in Talmage, Nebraska. A graveside inurnment will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Osage Cemetery in rural Cook, Nebraska.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
