Amelia A. “Pat” Sudman, age 92 of rural Brock, NE passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Amelia Ann (Forker) Sudman, lovingly known as Pat, was born on April 10, 1933 in Thurman, IA; the daughter of George Oliver and Veola Marie (Fitzgerald) Forker. She grew up in Thurman, graduating from Thurman High School with the Class of 1950. Pat was proud to say she was a female athlete, participating in basketball, track and softball.
On December 11, 1951, she was united in marriage to Le-Roy Fred “Dick” Sudman at First Lutheran Church-North Branch near Avoca, NE and to this union two children were born: Randy LeRoy and Vicki Renee. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Nebraska City, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and taught Sunday School. Pat was also a member of the Nebraska City Pioneer Athletic Booster Club, a 4H Leader in Nemaha County for nearly 40 years and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Pat was a long-time cancer survivor. She worked at various jobs over the years including at the Hallmark Card Company, Otoe Paint Store and with her husband Dick in Sudman Construction Company. Grandma Pat’s favorite pastime was attending all the events of her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, but especially their sports events. She was their biggest fan and “Team Grandma”. She also followed the teams coached by her grandkids and became the “Team Grandma” to all and bookkeeper.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Vicki Wade (Rich) of rural Brock, NE; daughter-in-law Robin Sudman of Nemaha, NE; six grandchildren: Shane Sudman of Plattsmouth, NE, Shannon Sudman of Gretna, NE, Shauna Sudman of Nebr. City, NE, Trisha Adams of Brock, NE, Joshua Adams of Omaha, NE, Kaitlynn Simon (fiancé Ryan Keithley) of Brock, NE and bonus grandchild Jayden Adams of Nebr. City, NE; 12 great-grandchildren: Kaitlin and Sawyer Sudman, Courtney and Haley Snyder, Kyran and Leyla Henley, Treytin Starks, Waylon Sherman, Lauren and Brayden Inman, Riley and Rianna Reiman; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Sudman on May 16, 2011; son Randy in 2015; grandson Jacob Adams, sisters: Mildred Morgan (Dave), Pearl “Peggy” Polk and Thelma Boettcher (Ed) and infant Carolyn Forker and brother Merle Forker (Christine).
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebr. City with Pastor Theresa Brezenski officiating. Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday (1/16) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
