Lawrence “Larry” Herbert Corey, 67, of Auburn, Nebraska, passed away October 22, 2025. He was born February 1, 1958, to Herbert and Patricia Corey in Hawthorne, California.
Larry spent his early years in Southern California before his family relocated to Beatrice, Nebraska, where he attended Beatrice High School during the 1974-75 school year. He graduated from Antelope Valley High School in Lancaster, California, in 1976. Larry built a distinguished career as a Radiation Protection Technician in the nuclear power industry, working in California and Pennsylvania before returning to Nebraska in 1987, where he soon welcomed a daughter, Marisa, in 1988. Larry devoted 25 years of service to Cooper Nuclear Station in Auburn before retiring in 2012.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman whose passions took him across southeast Nebraska— hunting, fishing, and golfing with friends throughout the region. He found joy in both the kitchen and the garden, often growing a large garden and preparing meals for friends and family. After earning his scuba diving certification, Larry explored tropical waters on island getaways with his daughter, his brother Steve and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jeff Corey and survived by his daughter Marisa.
