GLENDA (HILLERS) BUROW
Glenda Rae Hillers, one of 6 children of Henry and Hazel (Gerdes) Hillers, was born July 6, 1953, in Auburn, Nebraska. She was baptized August 2, 1953, and confirmed June 2, 1968, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn. Glenda attended Old Center and Howe schools before transferring to Calvert Elementary in Auburn. She graduated from AHS with the class of 1971.
On December 4, 1970, Glenda married Richard Burow at the courthouse in Lincoln, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children, Rachelle and Jason, and made their home in Auburn.
Glenda worked at various locations in Auburn during her lifetime. In her spare time she had many interests. She loved gardening and tending her flowers and plants outdoors and indoors. Cooking and baking were special interests, and she enjoyed travelling, particularly to Tucson, Arizona where she and Richard spent time in the winter. Family was important to Glenda, and she cherished her time spent with her twin sister Linda.
Glenda was recently rushed to the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn, and from there transported to Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln. She passed away at Bryan on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the age of 72 years, 3 months, and 25 days. She is predeceased by her parents Henry and Hazel, father-in-law Keith Burow, mother-in-law Donna (Gene) Friede, brothers David, Harlan, Calvin, and Ronald, sister Linda Bailey, and daughter Rachelle Emshoff.
Left to remember Glenda with love are her husband Richard of Auburn; son Jason (Kate) Burow of Auburn; son-in-law Dan Emshoff of Auburn; grandchildren Alyssa Graham (Steven), Ethan Emshoff (Megan Spain), Austin Emshoff (Mandi Day), Callie Emshoff (Reason Garcia), Hudson Emshoff, Kendle Burow; great-grandchildren Trever, Marlie, Ihrey, and Hialee; numerous brothersand sisters-in-law and their families; other relatives and friends.
Glenda’s memorial service, officiated by Rev. Jackie Gfeller, was Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Hemmingsen Funeral Home. Jason Burow was urn bearer, and honorary bearers were Steven Hillers, Myron Hillers, Gary Hillers, Dennis Hillers, James Hillers, Matt Hillers, and John Hansen.
Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home. ****
