LARRY “PEE WEE” LAUE

1944 - 2025

Larry Lee “Pee Wee” Laue was born to Edward and Dorothy (Koehler) Laue, Sr. on June 21, 1944 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He grew up on the family farm a mile and half northeast of the Maple Grove Church. He attended rural elementary school through the eighth grade and Tecumseh High School. Pee Wee went to work for the Campbell’s Soup Company and later Smart Chicken in the maintenance department from Nov. 9, 1962 until his retirement in 1997. Pee Wee was a hard, dedicated worker. When he wasn’t working for Campbell Soup he also worked parttime for his brother Ed at the Standard Station and helped his dad on the farm.

He was united in marriage to Delilah Mae Conner on December 17, 1965 at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Maple Grove) Church, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska. They were married for 49 years before her passing on Oct. 26, 2015. This union was blessed with twin sons Kevin and Keith.

Pee Wee was a lifelong member of the St. Paul’s U.C.C. (Maple Grove) Church. His happy place was spending many weekends in the summers over the years at the cabins at Red Bud Acres in Kansas along with other family members. Here he loved fishing, playing cards and listening to stories. It was the perfect quality time for he and his family. When his health declined, Pee Wee moved to Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams. He passed away there Saturday, September 27 2025 at the age of 81 years.

He is survived by his sons Kevin Laue and wife Cheri and Keith Laue and wife Michelle of Lincoln, grandchildren, Caleb and Grace Laue and Cameron and Kirsten Laue, sisters Bernice Rinne of Beatrice, Ruby McGuire and husband Dave of Cortland, brother, Richard Laue and wife Lois of Wymore and Cynthia Laue of Lincoln, numerous nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, Wendy Pettijohn and husband Raymond of Louisville, Mary Jane Conner of Glenwood, IA and brotherin- law Walter Dean Conner of Nebraska City.

Pee Wee was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Delilah, brothers Edward Laue Jr. and infant brother Glen, sisters Leona Bartels and husband Harold and Donna Beth Laue and brother-in-law Charles Rinne.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Maple Grove) Church, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Renae Koehler officiating. Musician, Deb Schultz sang “On Eagle’s Wings” and accompanied congregational hymn, “How Great Thou Art.” Pallbearers were Caleb Laue, Cameron Laue, Kirk Laue, Tim Laue, Ray Rinne, Dave McGuire, Jr. and Dan Bartels. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Rinne, Darrel Rinne, Jerry Rinne and Jeff Laue.

Interment was in the St. Paul’s U.C.C. (Maple Grove) Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska. Memorials may go the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Services were entrusted to Wherry Mortuary, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
