Deloris K. “Dee” Rengstorf, 83, of Sterling passed away Sunday morning, July 6, 2025 at her home. She was born on August 15, 1941, at Hutchinson, Kansas, to Henry and Verna (Luty) Baerg. Dee grew up in Inman and graduated from Inman High School in 1959. She attended Brown Mackie School of Business graduating in 1960. On April 30, 1960, she married Donald H. Kress in Inman and they lived in Salina until moving to Sterling in 1970. She was a secretary for the City of Lincoln for over 20 years and a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Sterling. After Donald’s death in 1999 she married Vane Rengstorf on February 27, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dee liked to travel and enjoyed car racing.

Survivors include her husband, Vane Rengstorf of Sterling; daughter, Kim (Brian) Stimple of Hallam; son, Todd (Vickie) Kress of Sterling; three grandchildren, Danelle (KC) Grueber, Alicia (Michael) York, and Macy Stimple; three great-grandchildren, Declan, Avery, and Calin. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Kress; parents, Henry and Verna Baerg; brother, Gerald Baerg and his wife Betty; nephew, Dale Baerg; niece, Jackie Baerg.

Graveside services and burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Sterling Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Reich officiating. The body will lie in state at the Zink-Fox Funeral Home on Tuesday from noon until 8:00 P.M. The family will greet friends Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
