Donella Cruikshank, age 89 of Brock, NE passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City.

Donella Jewel (Smith) Cruikshank was born October 30, 1935 in Holly, Colorado to Dorrel Smith and Florence (Woodrow) Smith.

She attended school and graduated from the Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1953. Shortly after her graduation, she was united in marriage to Dean Cruikshank on June 1, 1953 in Nebraska City. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 2007.

She is survived by a daughter Cindie Breeze of Winter Haven, FL; a grandson Paul Vandersteen and wife Lorena; two great-grandchildren: Jacob and Emily Vandersteen; a niece Deanna Haverty of Papillion, NE; three nephews: Greg Stukenholtz and wife Barb of Nebr. City, Kevin Stukenholtz and wife Judy of Wahoo, NE and David Stukenholtz and wife Kelli of Omaha, NE; other family and friends.

In addition to her husband Dean, she was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Ardith Cruikshank, her grandson Darin Vandersteen and his wife Cashia. She also lost her sister and brother-in law, Deloris and George Stukenholtz, son-in-law, Bill Breeze and a nephew Patrick Haverty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lafayette Cemetery near Brock, NE.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with Pastor Terry Weible officiating. There will be a time to greet the family from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Lafayette Cemetery near Brock, NE at a later date.
