RACHELLE (BUROW) EMSHOFF
Rachelle Renee (Burow) Emshoff, one of two children of Richard and Glenda (Hillers) Burow, was born December 23, 1970, in Auburn, Nebraska. Rachelle grew up and attended school in Auburn, graduating from Auburn High School in 1989.
On July 27, 1990, Rachelle was united in marriage to Dan Emshoff at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn. The couple would be blessed with 6 children: Alyssa, Ethan, Austin, Callie, Hudson, and Trevor.
Rachelle began working at Trail’s End in Rock Port, waiting tables and then administrative duties, while she and Dan first made their home in Auburn. They then moved to Lincoln where Rachelle began taking classes working towards becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. After moving to Grand Island, Rachelle completed courses through Central Community College to obtain her LPN, where she then worked at St. Francis Hospital. Rachelle and Dan then moved back to Auburn where Rachelle worked at the Good Samaritan Society and then Nemaha County Hospital before purchasing Buck’s in 1996. Rachelle always enjoyed working, while she and Dan owned and operated the restaurant through the years, Rachelle took on several other business ventures in Auburn, including her most recent operation of Southeast Design, offering screen-printing and tanning.
A lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rachelle was also active in the Jaycees and the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. Rachelle enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach, and going to concerts. When she wasn’t working, Rachelle was raising her children and following their various activities.
After a courageous battle with cancer, Rachelle passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, June 16, 2025, having reached the age of 54 years, 5 months, and 24 days. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Keith Burow, Donna and Gene Friede, Henry and Hazel Hillers; aunt Linda Bailey; and mother-in-law Sallie Emshoff.
Those left to mourn her passing include her husband Dan Emshoff of Auburn; children Alyssa Graham (Steven) of Weeping Water, Ethan Emshoff (Megan Spain) of Lincoln, Austin Emshoff (Mandi Day) of Phoenix, AZ, Callie Emshoff (Reason Garcia) of Lincoln, Hudson Emshoff of Auburn, Trevor McNeely of Auburn; granddaughters Marlie, Ihrey, and Hialee Reiman; parents Richard and Glenda Burow of Auburn; brother Jason (Kate) Burow of Auburn; fatherin- law Stanley Emshoff of Lincoln; brother-n-law Alan (Amy) Emshoff of Exeter; sister-in-law Kellie (Ben) Pope of Avoca; other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service was held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev Jackie Gfeller. Special pre-recorded music was played.
Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
