Ronald Dean Heidzig, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at the age of 64 in Loveland, Colorado. He will be forever remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and unwavering honesty.
Born on November 20, 1960, in Auburn, Nebraska, Ronald was raised in a loving family. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1980 and dedicated many years of his life to the workforce, spending three decades of his career at the Walmart distribution center, followed by three years of maintenance work at Affinity for Living. Ronald approached each day with a steadfast commitment to hard work, always embodying his motto, “If you’re on time, you’re late.” Ronald cherished his family deeply.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Cathey, and their children, Jessica and Jason. He found immense joy in being a grandfather to his grandson, Braiden. He is also remembered by his brother, Thomas (Kay) Heidzig, sister- in-law Debra, and four loving nieces, alongside two brothers-in-law. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Henrietta Heidzig, and his brother, Kenneth Heidzig.
In addition to his devotion to family, Ronald held a deep passion for his Nebraska Huskers football team, eagerly anticipating the fall season each year. His favorite phrase, “Trust me,” reflects the faith and assurance he provided to those around him, making him a steadfast presence in their lives.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Viegut Funeral Home in Loveland, Colorado. In lieu of flowers or cards, the family kindly requests that condolences be sent to Viegut Funeral Home at 1616 N.
