CAROL JEANNE PASCO

CAROL JEANNE PASCO

1928 - 2025

Carol Jeanne Pasco passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Cedar Creek of High Plains Assisted Living in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born October 22, 1928, in rural Brownville, Nebraska to Howard and Bessie (Parker) Moore. Carol was united in marriage to Harlan G. Pasco on June 6, 1948, at the Nemaha Christian Church.

Carol loved her family, her friends, her church, and her country and raised her children to love and respect those same things. Carol attended Sunflower K-8 School on the banks of the Missouri River and went on to graduate from Auburn High School. She received her two-year and four-year teaching certificates from Peru State College. Carol was a country schoolteacher in several one and two room schools in Southeast Nebraska and was very proud of her students who, to this day, stopped by to share a story and pay their respects.

Carol believed a person should contribute to their community and modeled that for all of us when, for many years, she sold poppies at the cemetery for the American Legion Auxiliary and made casseroles and hundreds of cookies to support activities at her Auburn Christian Church.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 43 years, Harlan G. Pasco, her sister-in-law Mervalyn Darling (Joe), her sister Marjorie Rider (Jim), her brother Branson Moore (Betty), her sister-in-law Beverly Bunn (Hersch) and her granddaughter, Alisa Knipe (Matt). She is survived by her three children Rebecca Pasco (Mary), Barbara Knipe (Chuck), and Russell Pasco (Diana), her grandchildren Matthew, Bryan (Alysson), Klark (Brandi), Audrey (Troy), and Claire (Cory), and her great grandchildren Michael, Eric, Brayden, Ashton, Bennett, Will, Eloise, Loren, Canyon, and Booker. Carol loved all her Moores, and her Darlings and her very special cousin/BFF/soulmate with whom she spoke daily for many years, Pat Bantz (Kim Essington and Kris Gomez) of Kansas City.

Carol’s family will have a private graveside service and committal in Sheridan Cemetery at Auburn. A public reception in Carol’s memory will be Tuesday, May 13, 10:45 a.m. at the Auburn Christian Church.

Rather than flowers, Carol’s family asks that you honor Carol’s wishes and send donations to the Auburn American Legion Auxiliary of which Carol was a member for many years.
