Auburn High School Student-Vocalists, Instrumentalists Present Holiday Concert

THE AUBURN High School Symphonic Choir sang We Need a Little Christmas from Mame; Gettin’ in the Mood (for Christmas),a takeoff on Glenn Miller’s In The Mood and Snowy Day. Student-vocalists are Josie Zimmerman, Gianna Johnson, Kinsley Gerdes, Addison Fankhauser and Alexa Janssen, sopranos; Ella Ackley, Madeline Svoboda, Hailey Janssen, Leah Tucker, Destiny Boomgaarn, Twila Haynes, Gillian Hanna, Veronica Porter, Teagan Fowler, Celia Neal, Gracelyn Bohling, LeAnn Hershey and Ellie Phillips, altos; tenors Elijah Powell, Lily Harrah and Ashlynn Johnson; and basses Zackariah Haynes, Michael Stone, Ethan Pemberton, Darryn Oliver and Sagen Noland. Andrew Davis is Auburn Public Schools secondary vocal music director. Lexie Baack accompanied.

THE 50 Bulldog Beginnings preschoolers sang seven songs at their Tuesday, Dec. 16 Christmas program at the Auburn Public Schools Central Office auditorium.

VOCAL VELOCITY, the Auburn High School show choir, presented selections from the 2017 motion picture The Greatest Showman. Comprising the ensemble are: Madeline Vinson, Kataleah Bowland and Graely Mangnall, soprano; Ellie Phillips, Ella Ackley, Leah Tucker, Twila Haynes, Veronica Potter and Teagan Fowler, alto; tenor Kyle Jones and bass Zackariah Haynes.

ON THIS Day Earth Shall Ring, Hope and Celtic Carol were played by the Auburn High School Symphonic Band to conclude the evening. Band members are: Marc Bohling, Nani Boyd, Emma Falk, Emma Feilen, Gillian Hanna, Alexa Janssen and Anna Schlange on flute; Emma Dunekacke, Addison Fankhauser, Laurynn Fankhauser and Twila Haynes on flute; Jack Hayes on bass clarinet; Rilee Dotson, Max Johnson, Jonah Schlange and Colt Zentner on alto saxophone; Kale Davidson and Abby Donner on baritone saxophone; Ella Ackley, Landry Allen, Nash Crotty, Sophie Falk, Lily Harrah, Karlito Holthus, Eli Mueller, Hunter Stevenson and Cale Zentner on trumpet; Kyle Jones on french horn; Riley Dickerson and Caleb Cover on trombone; Wyatt Beard, Jacob Crotty and Solomon Jacobitz on baritone; Zack Haynes, Tyler Koeneke and Ethan Pemberton on tuba; and Charlotte Dickerson, Ian Mather, Gretchen Paschal, Charlize Phillips, Elijah Powell and Grace Zhang.

OPENING THE Monday, Dec. 15 Auburn High School holiday concert was the Jazz Band rendering selections from A Charlie Brown Christmas. The longtime holiday season fixture celebrates 60 years in 2025. Student-instrumentalists are Marc Bohling, Gillian Hanna and Everett Kadavy on alto saxophone; Emma Dunekacke and Zack Haynes on tenor saxophone; Landry Allen, Sophie Falk, Lily Harrah and Kyle Jones on trumpet; Bryson Cook and Asher Jenek on trombone; Jack Hayes on piano; Charlotte Dickerson and Grace Zhang on vibraphone; Addison Fankhauser on bass guitar; and percussionists Elijah Powell, Gretchen Paschal and Ian Mather.
