(Peru, NE) — The sounds of music will fill Peru State College’s Performing Arts Center on Wednesday and Thursday, October 28 and 29, as the College welcomes student vocalists from more than 30 schools for its 53rd Annual Contemporary Choral Festival.
The free, two-day event offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy performances by talented young singers while celebrating the art of choral music. Performances will take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
Sponsored by the College’s NAFME-C and directed by Dr. Jake Bartlett, Professor of Music, the festival emphasizes education and musical growth rather than competition. No awards are presented, allowing participating schools to focus on their performances and the valuable feedback they receive.
