Auburn FBLA to Host Second Alzheimer’s Walk; Partnering With GSS, JB, JCC

The Auburn FBLA Chapter is proud to host its second annual Alzheimer’s Walk. The walk will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Auburn Recreation Center at 419 Q Street.
The walk began last year as a way for Auburn FBLA members to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and show support for individuals and families affected by it. Following last year’s event, FBLA is excited to continue the tradition and make the walk an annual opportunity for the Auburn community to come together for an important cause.
Good Samaritan Society in Auburn is partnering with Auburn FBLA for the event. The Johnson-Brock and Johnson County Central FBLA chapters are also partnering for the walk.
Whether you have a loved one affected by the disease, work with older adults, or simply want to be an advocate for Alzheimer's awareness, everyone is welcome. By attending, participants can help show that the Auburn community stands together in support of those affected by Alzheimer’s. The event will also include purple cookies and punch for participants to enjoy, as purple serves as a symbol of Alzheimer’s awareness and will bring a shared sense of purpose to the event.
Auburn FBLA hopes to see people of all ages come out and participate. To attend the walk participants will have to pay 8 dollars. The sign-up link for the walk is posted on flyers around town, but walk-ups are welcome. The walk is not only an opportunity to raise awareness, but also a chance for the community to spend time together, support local seniors.
Auburn FBLA invites the community to come together, take part in the walk, and help create a day centered around awareness, support, and connection. So gather your family and friends, wear your purple, and join us at the Auburn Recreation Center on Oct. 18, from 1 to 3 p.m.
