Madison Casey, owner of and artist for Nemaha Tattoo Company, is shifting gears. The business, soon to be named Nemaha Cards and Collectibles, expects to hold a soft opening by the third week of October and then host its grand opening November 7.
“I was simply booked too full to accept walk-in tattoos,” Casey explained, “I had to turn people away, and that didn’t feel good to me.” To solve this, Casey has decided to take his tattooing business private, by appointment only and, instead of his studio taking up the majority of the floor space at 921 Central Ave. in Auburn, Casey will open a cards and collectibles shop. He plans to stock a wide variety of games and cards, including Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, Funko and much more. “I want this to be a safe place for kids to come and hang out with their friends, open some packs or rent a board game.”
The store plans to offer a number of dedicated nights during the weeks to different games, including Friday night Magic and Saturday Pokemon League. Casey is in the process of obtaining sanctions from the companies that create said games so that he can officially host competitive tournaments and other sorts of events.
