Two regional school board members earned a 2026 Award of Achievement from the Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB) directors and staff.
Laura Osborne of the Auburn Public Schools Board of Education and Kim Wellensiek of the Johnson County Central Public Schools Board of Education achieved Level VII. Both earned between 1,000 and 1,249 points. Osborne and Wellensiek were presented an NASB glass paperweight. The honors were conferred during association area meetings in August and September. There were 54 individuals meriting Levels VII through X.
“In my 12 years as a member of the District 29 Board of Education, I have enjoyed the support from Nebraska Association of School Boards, especially during sessions of our Unicameral,” said Osborne. “I attend the annual area meeting whenever possible, and frequently participate in their opportunities to conduct legislative advocacy with the Unicameral and our senator. In doing so, I work to represent the interests of our tax payers, students and staff as I advocate for the appropriate resources needed to educate our students.”
