JCC Seniors See Options for the Future at Career Sessions

On Wednesday, September 2nd, several professionals from area businesses and colleges and universities came to talk at Career Sessions for Johnson County Central seniors. The seniors learned about many different academic and career opportunities beyond high school. Presenters included Tecumseh Poultry, the Peru State College Criminal Justice and Education departments, Western National Bank, the Southeast Community College Biotechnology program, Sandhills Global, the Engineering department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Highland Community College, NEAPCO, the U.S. Army, Johnson County Hospital, and the Health Sciences department at Midland University.

When asked what they learned, William Rademacher said, 'I learned that at NEAPCO in Beatrice, you can earn your way up the ranks to a high position even if you have no more than a high school diploma. Your work ethic and how you work with people matters a lot; it's not just how much education you have.'

Abigail Blomstedt and Jillian Cropp said, 'We learned about all of the different pathways that you can take to achieve the same healthcare career goals. We didn't know there were so many different pathways.'
