Bulldog Softball Wins Three of Last Four Games

Auburn won two of three games at the Falls City softball invitational on Saturday, September 12, earning wins over North Andrew, MO and Falls City, but falling to Wilber-Clatonia in the teams’ third meeting this season.
Auburn was outhit 11 to eight by the Wolverines and fell behind 4-2 after the first inning. The Bulldogs scored four more runs to pull ahead 6-4, but Wilber-Clatonia pulled back in front with three runs in the final two innings to edge the Bulldogs 7-6.
Auburn again fell behind to North Andrew, MO after the first inning, but the Bulldogs would score in each of the final three innings to pull out the 9-7 win against their Missouri opponent.
The Bulldogs handled the Tigers easily, shutting out Falls City to win 12-0 behind three home runs; two from Morgan Stanley and another from Kollins Wehenkel.
Auburn also made good on their third place game of the team’s home tournament the week prior after it was cancelled due to extreme heat. Auburn led Palmyra 10-4 after four innings, but the Panthers cut it to one run in the fifth.
Bre Wehenkel and Morgan Stanley each drove home three runs to lead Auburn to the win over Palmyra as Auburn pulled away late to earn the victory over Palmyra and improve to 9-8 on the season.
