Auburn Football Earns Top-10 Win on the Road

The Bulldog football team took to the road for the first time this year and earned a win over the #9 rated Pioneers of Fort Calhoun Friday night. Auburn has started the season 3-0 and continues to climb in the class C1 ratings.
Quarterback Blake Swanson connected with seven Bulldog receivers for a total of 229 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air. The passing game was needed against the Pioneers as Auburn had a season low 74 yards on the ground.
Wyatt Tanner picked up a majority of Auburn’s rushing total with 48 yards on 13 carries as well as a couple of receptions. Swanson’s top receiving targets were Tayber Rademacher, Riley Tanner, and Clayton Brown with four catches apiece, including one touchdown pass for each top  receiver. Rademacher finished with a team-high 86 receiving yards.
Auburn’s defense held a second straight opponent to just one score, but Fort Calhoun struck early to take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. The Pioneers then made a goal-line stop of the Auburn offense, but Auburn would get back in scoring territory in the second quarter, tying the game up by halftime.
A second half shutout for the Bulldog defense and an Auburn touchdown in each of the final two periods led to a 19-7 decision as the Bulldogs added a top-10 win on the road to their resume.
