Twenty-one musicians rotated through the stage in groups of three, trading songs and the stories behind them, at the first Hivemind Songwriter Series on Saturday, part of the second annual Auburn Creative District Honeybee Festival at Legion Memorial Park.
The festival brought a 5k, foam party, kids market, UNL Bee Lab demos, food trucks, facepainting and more.
The event was the brainchild of Logan Merz, who performs with Tyson Wessels and Todd Krause as the Welcome Hunters. They had performed at a similar songwriter series a few months earlier in Fremont and came away wanting to build one of their own, Merz said.
