The Thunderbirds led one set to none on Tuesday against Freeman as they looked to extend their unbeaten season, but the Falcons would come back to take the final two sets by wide margins to hand JCC their first loss of the season.
Despite the loss, the squad would still earn a win on that same day, beating Wilber-Clatonia in two sets to finish the triangular 1-1. Riley Wellensiek had a team-high 21 kills in the triangular, while Molly Weber had six blocks on the day.
Two days later, the Thunderbirds got back on track at home with a win over Palmyra in straight sets, allowing the Panthers to reach 20 points only once on the night.
