Elmwood-Murdock entered their September 3 match against the Lady Eagles unbeaten and would go on to win their next three games following the match in Johnson, but the Lady Eagles would deny the Knights a win as Johnson-Brock would win in five sets.
Kasie Knippelmeyer led all players on Thursday night with 21 kills, followed closely by Daley Pelican, who recorded 18 kills to lead the Lady Eagles to a big home win. Johnson-Brock won the first set by a score of 25-16, but Elmwood-Murdock drew even with a 25-22 win in set two and went in front after winning the third set 25-21.
The Lady Eagles respond with another lopsided set in their favor, forcing a fifth set with a 25-14 win in set four. The match-clinching set would be much closer, but Johnson-Brock would take the match with a 18-16 win in set five.
