Three JCC Cross Country Runners Medal at Cass County Meet

The Johnson County Central Cross Country Team traveled to the Cass County Fairgrounds on August 27 for the Weeping Water Invite.“Overall, it was a good start to the season as the JCC runners continue to build for the future,” said Nick Weber, JCC's head cross country coach.
Boys Division
In a very competitive field, the Johnson County Central boys team finished in a tie for third with Syracuse with a score of 34. Ashton Huskey and Juan Aguilar were both varsity medalists for the Thunderbirds. Ashton Huskey finished sixth with a time of 19:06. Juan Aguilar came in 11th place with a time of 19:57. Jon DeFreece placed 18th with time of 20:36. Harrison Bacon followed in 19th place with a time of 20:39. Damian Andrade finished 21st at 20:54.
Girls Division
In JCC girls cross country competition, JCC's Natalya Kirkendall led the JCC girls team with a 16th place finish with a time of 28:27. Sophia Rainey placed 25th at 34:48. Edith Blomstedt followed in 26th place at 37:15.
Boys Junior Varsity
Johnson County Central had 10 runners in the boys junior varsity race on August 27. Jonas Lassen completed his race at 21:03 for a forth place finish. Dalton Henderson placed seventh at 21:29. Kael Fricke came in 20th at 22:37. Aaryn Kaster followed in 22nd place at 23:07. Matthew Cruz finished in 25th place at 23:28. Memphis Pingel came in 30th with a time of 24:24. Chase Harrifeld finished in 38th place at 26:14. Elliott Werner placed 42nd at 29:25. James Francis followed in 44th place with a time of 33:30. Jose Aguilar finished 45th at 45:30.
The Johnson County Central Cross Country Team will host the Thunderbird Cross Country Invitational on Friday, September 4 at 9 am.
