It was a 1-1 start to the first week of volleyball for the Lady Eagles as they lost their first match to Falls City, but bounced back with a win over Southern in two sets at a triangular in Johnson on Thursday, August 27.
In the first game of the day, Falls City took the first set by four points, but the Lady Eagles would even the match with a second set victory. Daley Pelican had a team high 12 kills, followed by Kasie Knippelmeyer with 11. Josie Stutheit made an impact with three blocks.
In the deciding third set, the Lady Eagles would fall behind and ultimately drop the set, losing to Falls City two sets to one.

After falling to the Tigers, Johnson-Brock would win both sets against Southern to draw even on the day.
In two sets, the Lady Eagles would tally seven ace serves, with three of them coming from Isabell Bishop, who also led the team in digs with 11. Setter Kinley Vice had a game-high 26 assists in just two sets.
Southern was competitive in the first set, but Johnson-Brock dominated set two, winning the match with a second set score of 25-11.
