The Bulldog volleyball team was victorious in their home opener on Thursday, August 27, coming back from a first set loss to win the next three sets and start the season with a win.
Louisville caught rhythm early on as Auburn fell into a deficit and lost the first set by a score of 25-19. The Bulldogs shook off the nerves and tied the match with a 25-17 win in set number two.
The Bulldogs had the top two hitters on the night in Emery Taylor, who had a game-high 19 kills, as well as Ella Swanson who added 12 kills to the effort. Taylor also led all players in digs with 21 in the win. Nora Jacobitz was active for the Bulldogs too, as she recorded 34 assists, 11 digs, and four serving aces.
Off the momentum of their second set win, the Bulldogs won set three by a score of 25-20 and delivered the knockout blow with a set four win by three points to defeat the Lions in four sets.
