Charter Oak Christian Church Birthday Blessings Bash at Open Door Mission, Omaha

Members from Charter Oak Christian Church, Talmage, brought a special experience to guests at the Open Door Mission in Omaha, said Jenny Campbell, volunteer coordinator.
“It was a Birthday Blessings Bash for everyone,” Campbell continued.  
She noted the volunteers made more than 200 pieces of homemade cakes. Those included  German chocolate, confetti strawberry, lemon and double chocolate.  
The theme was to share their birthday blessing:  Many happy returns for the day of thy birth.  May sunshine and gladness be given.  And may thy dear Savior prepare thee on earth, for a beautiful birthday in heaven! With our dinner guests.  
Campbell related each person’s birthday is important and beloved to God, as is our future heavenly birthday.  After the church members plated their homemade treats, distributed table topper blessings and prepared to serve the evening meal, a dinner prayer was offered, and everyone sang Happy Birthday.  
“Thank you Charter Oak for your generous birthday blessings!  The warm smiles and ‘Happy Birthdays’ people said to each other were so fun to experience!,” Campbell concluded.
