The Auburn City Council on Monday, August 17, approved a special exception use permit allowing an RV park on J Street to continue operating, formalizing a use that has existed at the site for years without a zoning designation of its own.
The council adopted Resolution 13-26 following a public hearing on the request from Roger Putt, owner of the property at 517 J Street. No one spoke during the hearing.
City Attorney Angelo Ligouri told the council that the parcel had long been treated as part of the adjacent fairgrounds property and had never been separately identified as an RV park, even though it has operated as one for a number of years.
