Auburn Seniors Win First Two Games of Area Tournament

The First National Bank of Johnson Seniors are in the driver's seat as only three teams remain in the area B7 Tournament in Sidney after this past weekend. Auburn opened the week with an 8-2 win over Fort Calhoun to close out the regular season before the area tournament began on Friday.

The FNBJ Seniors earned the third seed in the six-team tournament and opened it with a shutout win over #4 Gering. Auburn came out of the gates hot with seven runs in the first inning. Jackson Warner and Christian Gage drove home the first two runs of the game and Westyn Amthor doubled to center field to drive home two more runs.

With two outs in the inning, Auburn added three more runs on RBI from Clayton Brown and Mason Schultz to take a 7-0 lead after one inning. Auburn added a run in each of the next two innings to stretch the lead to 9-0 after three innings.
