Auburn’s bowling center has new owners. Cassie Brownmiller and Mariah Lotter are striking out on their own in a new business venture, taking over what is now called The Local Alibi.
“We are reconfiguring the interior and expanding our seating area because what we have now is just not enough,” Lotter said. “We have fall leagues starting Sept. 1 and hope to have summer leagues next year.” Brownmiller added there is still time to sign up.
Brownmiller said they are planning other changes as well. “I am hoping to close off an area of the parking lot to create a beer garden, and I’d like to do a pool league next summer as well,” she said.
In addition to the main attraction of bowling, the center offers skill games, pool and games for kids. The restaurant and bar area will keep a similar menu of burgers, sandwiches and pizza, with a special on Saturdays for families. “Our $55 Family Special includes a large single-topping pizza, cheese sticks, fountain pops, shoe rental and an hour of bowling for six people. It’s a great deal for families,” Brownmiller said.
Family is a theme throughout the business, as much of Brownmiller’s family will help fill out the staff.
Hours
The Local Alibi will be closed Sunday and Monday and open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Regular bowling prices are $25 for one hour of lane time for up to six people, or $10 per person for one hour with free cosmic bowling options available anytime.
