Three athletes from the Auburn City Rec Bulldog Track Pack brought home medals from the USA Track and Field Region Eight Junior Olympic Championship, held July 9 through 12, 2026. The competed with other junior athletes from Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska.
Carter Aue turned in the strongest showing of the meet, placing second in both the 800 meters and the 1500 meters in the 11-12 division. Aue clocked a season-best 2:28.20 in the 800 on July 12, then posted a personal-best 5:03.83 in the 1500 on July 9.
Jensyn Wehenkel placed seventh in the 400 meters in the 9-10 division, finishing with a personal-best time of 1:13.14 on July 11.
