The Post 2/330 Seniors baseball team went 1-1 in their two games last week, starting with a one-run victory over Lincoln Lutheran on Tuesday, June 19.
Tecumseh/Johnson put up a run in the top of the first inning, but Lincoln Lutheran scored four runs in the bottom of the first, eventually earning a four-run lead by the third inning.
Trailing 5-2 after five innings, the Post 2/330 Seniors were sparked by a Wyatt Fulton one-out triple which led to five runs and the lead for Tecumseh/Johnson. Tate Hawley’s double drove home the final three runs of the top of the fifth to give the team a 7-5 lead.
Lincoln Lutheran would come right back though, taking the lead right back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Despite their efforts to take the lead being erased, the Tecumseh/Johnson boys didn’t quit, instead tying the game back up at eight runs apiece. Kellen Dorn drove home what would be the game-winning run to flip the game once again.
AJ Rautenback struck out two batters in the bottom of the seventh and Dorn put out the final batter to clinch the dramatic victory.
The week would end on a down note for the team as they failed to put any runs on the board in a 5-0 loss to Syracuse on Friday.
Brothers Camden and Casen Dalinghaus each recorded a hit, as did Rautenbach, but Syracuse would double Tecumseh/Johnson’s hit total on the evening, as they earned a 4-0 lead by the second inning.
Syracuse added a fifth run in the bottom of the sixth, but it wasn’t needed as they completed the shutout as Tecumseh/Johnson lost by a score of 5-0 to bring their season record to 10-2-1.
