The Auburn baseball Seniors added four wins this past week with victories over Concordia, Fairbury, and two wins over Syracuse to bookend the week. The four wins improve the team’s record to 9-2 with five straight victories.
Auburn’s first win over Syracuse was a 7-2 final on Tuesday, June 16. The FNBJ Seniors went up 2-0 in the top of the second inning, but Syracuse tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. After seeing their lead vanish, Auburn separated once again with five runs scored in the top of the sixth pull away.
Christian Gage and Mason Shultz combined for nine strikeouts, while allowing only two hits and two runs in the win.
