Like thousands around Nebraska and millions nationally, Auburn area residents gathered Monday morning, May 25 to remember Americans who gave the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the freedoms we all enjoy.

Roy Whittington, American Legion Post 23 chaplain, related we should safely guide those serving overseas in the U.S. armed forces as they help preserve our freedoms and rights.

“We are thankful to live in a nation where we have many freedoms. We owe much to those who founded (the United States of America),” the chaplain concluded.
