Eagle Track & Field Trio Finishes 12th in Class C Boys; Five Lady Eagles Compete at State Track
Scoring a total of 18.33 points in the NSAA Class C Boys State Track & Field Championships were Calvin Benham, Deacon Bernadt, and Oliver Everett, leading to a 12th place finish for the Johnson-Brock boys at state.
Benham and Bernadt were both double qualifiers for the boys. Benham, a junior, finished third in the shot put with a throw of 58 feet, 3.5 inches to earn six team points and 5th in the discus with a throw of 162 feet, 7 inches for four more points. Bernadt had a 7th place finish in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 40.61 seconds and a 9th place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.92 seconds, earning two team points as a sophomore.
