Since 2013, Southeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership (SENCA) has invested more than $34,000 in post-secondary scholarships to graduating seniors throughout the agency’s six core county service area. Scholarships are heavily weighted in community service activities.
In addition to other scoring areas, which includes an essay, applicants earn scholarship points from their prior involvement with SENCA programs and services.
This may include participation in: SENCA Head Start Preschool – age 3 to 5 or in the SENCA SMART Financial Literacy program as an 8th grader or high school student, volunteering for food drives or other nutrition related activities, and ringing bells for the annual Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign where 90 percent of the donations received stay in the county where donated to provide local resources to households experiencing an emergency situation.
Each year SENCA’s goal is to award six $500 scholarships, one per county, to graduating seniors residing in Cass, Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, and Richardson. SENCA scholarship applications are emailed to all area high school guidance counselors each year, typically in January, with completed applications due back to SENCA around mid-March.
Applications are also available on the SENCA website - www.senca.org
SENCA would like to congratulate each of the 2026 scholarship winners, as well as all 2026 southeast Nebraska graduates!
