Softballs and baseballs that is! The Tecumseh Methodist Men are committed to supporting the youth of Tecumseh. As the Tecumseh Summer Ball Program begins, the Tecumseh Methodist Men lend its support by providing game balls to all teams.
“Last year we were able to provide baseballs to the Peewee and Pony boys teams,” stated spokesman, Andre Rautenbach. “This year we expanded our support to include all youth teams. Four softball teams and four baseball teams. The excitement and appreciation of the team players and volunteer coaches is very gratifying.”
Tecumseh Methodist Men have one goal: To support and develop programs solely for the benefit of the community youth. In addition to providing game balls, the Methodist Men sponsor swimming lessons, summer camp attendees and the back pack program.
According to Rautenbach, “100% of the proceeds from our two annual fundraisers are donated to youth programs. The support from the community makes it possible.”
This year’s “Wing Meal Deal” will be held on Saturday, May 23 at the Community Insurance Group parking lot at 119 N. 12th Street. (Intersection of Highway 50 and Broadway Street.) A dozen wings, chips and water will be offered for $15. Serving hours are 11 a.m. until 1:30.
