While the majority of the power has been restored as of 7:54 a.m. Tuesday, May 19 following the severe storms that moved through the area Monday, May 18, Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW) crews are actively assessing damage and working to restore individual power issues as quickly and safely as possible.
Residents and businesses that are still experiencing power outages are encouraged to report outages to help response teams identify affected areas and prioritize restoration efforts.
Customers can report any remaining outages by:

Officials remind residents to stay away from downed power lines and assume all lines are energized. Any downed lines or hazardous conditions should be reported immediately by calling 402-274-4981.
“Our crews are working around the clock to restore service safely and efficiently. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as we continue recovery efforts,” said Kevin Kuhlmann, electric operations manager.
Safety tips during outages include:
--Use flashlights instead of candles whenever possible.
--Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed to preserve food.
--Never operate generators indoors or in enclosed spaces.
--Check on elderly neighbors and those with medical needs.
