JCC Girls Take Runner-Up; Boys Place Fourth in Thunderbird Invitational

The Johnson County Central girls track team claimed the runner-up title of the JCC Thunderbird Invitational on Friday, May 8 with a total 90 points. The JCC boys track team finished fourth with 48 points.
Individual medalists for Johnson County Central's girls and boys are as follows:
Girls Division
Pole Vault: Charlyn Bobadilla won first place as she cleared the bar 9'8”. Catherine Wendt came in fourth at 8'8”.
Long Jump: Molly Weber won first place with a jump of 16' 10”.
Discus: Harley Lubben medaled in second place with a throw of 118' 4”.
Shot Put: Harley Lubben won first place with a throw of 41' 2 1/2”.
100 meter hurdles: Sophia Schmid medaled in fourth place with a time of 17.05.
100 meter dash: Molly Weber won first place with a time of 12.73.
3200 meter run: Madison VanLaningham placed third at 13:00.27.
200 meter dash: Molly Weber won this event with a time of 25.89.
800 meter run: Adree Case won first place with a time of 2:32.97.
3200 meter relay: The JCC girls finished in fourth with a time of 53.75. Runners were Charlyn Bobadilla, Catherine Wendt, Riley Wellensiek, Molly Weber.
1600 meter relay: The JCC girls placed fifth in this event at 4:46.15. Runners were Charlyn Bobadilla, Catherine Wendt, Sophia Schmid, Leighton Beethe.
Boys Division
Pole Vault: Wes Schmid cleared the bar at 11' 8” for fourth place.
Triple Jump: Conner Gerking placed fourth with his jump of 38' 1”.
Discus: Gabe Bernadt finished in sixth place with a throw of 127'.
Shot Put: Bernadt placed fifth in this event with a throw of 45' 6”.
3200 meter relay: The JCC boys finished sixth with a time of 9:24.98. Runners were Ashton Huskey, Damian Andrade, Harrison Bacon and Juan Aguilar.
110 hurdles: Levi Othmer medaled in third place with a time of 16.70. Conner Gerking followed in fourth place at 16.78.
400 meter run: Memphis Pingel took fifth place at 54.40.
800 meter run: Trevin Huskey medaled in third place with a time of 2:03.37.
300 hurdles: Levi Othmer placed third with a time of 44.40.
1600 meter run: Trevin Huskey took second place at 4:42.65.
1600 meter relay: JCC boys finished in fourth place at 3:48.20. Runners were Levi Othmer, Zeke Burki, Aaryn Kaster, Memphis Pingel.
