JCC Boys Golfers Champions of Own Invitational
The Johnson County Central boys golfers were champions of their own golf invitational on Thursday, May 7. The varsity team members and coaches are, from the left: Coach Ben Swanson, Regan Thies, Wes Swanson, Jack Waring, Cooper Jones, Caden McDonald, and Coach Russ Waring.

Johnson County Central's Boys Golf Team won the championship title of the 2026 Thunderbird Golf Invitational at the Tecumseh Country Club on Thursday, May 7 with 309 points. The Johnson-Brock boys came in runner-up with 313 points. The Auburn boys finished third at 342.
JCC golfers took the top three spots. Jack Waring was the champion medalist with a 77 (39-38). Cooper Jones was runner-up with a 78 (40-38). Wes Swanson came in third with a 78 (40-38) as well. Other area medalists were Grady Behrends of Johnson-Brock, fourth with a 79 (41-38). Johnson-Brock's Gage Rasmussen medaled in sixth place with an 80 (39-41). Kaleb Dammast of Auburn came in seventh with an 80 (39-41). Brody Koehler of Johnson-Brock finished eighth with a 80 (38-42). JCC's Regan Thies medaled in 10th place with an 84 (43-41). Johnson-Brock's Tate Hawley followed in 11th place with an 84 (43-41). JCC's Caden McDonald finished 12th with an 87 (39-48) Taber Rademacher of Auburn placed 13th with an 89 (46-61).
Medalists among the junior varsity golfers were Coy Behrends of Johnson-Brock, 43; Trey Lubben of JCC, 45; Brody Nichols of JCC, 46; Lee Xayaphonesongkham, JCC, 48; Owen Weber of JCC, 49.
The Johnson County \Central Boys Golf Team will compete in the Class C1 District Golf Championship at the Hidden Valley Golf Course on Tuesday, May 19.
