Auburn’s 91 team points topped all other competing girls teams at the Freeman Track Invite as the Bulldogs girls finished 16 points ahead of second place JCC to earn another team title on Tuesday, May 5.
Senior Addie Darnell already holds the school record in the 100 meter hurdles, but she improved her record to a time of 14.39, unofficially breaking the Class B record of 14.34 set last season.
The girls had five first place finishes at Freeman. Two from Darnell in both hurdles events, one from freshman Hailey Janssen in the two-mile race, another from senior Jaidyn Glathar in the high jump, and finally a first place 1600 meter race team.
Logan Rowell would earn the Auburn boys team’s only top finish of the day with a discus throw of 164-08 to go with a third place finish in the shot put. Wyatt Tanner finished second in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Crew Gulizia was also among the top finishers for the boys, coming in third in the pole vault.
The Bulldog boys finished 5th out of 12 teams at the meet, with 44 points, edging host Freeman by a single point.
