Students in the Johnson-Brock High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) brought home a number of awards from the state leadership conference. It was Thursday through Saturday, April 16 through 18 at Kearney.
State Champions
Corbyn Rasby in Career Research and Exploring Economics. Katelyn Melvin in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure.
State Runners-Up
Rasby in Explore Accounting and Finance, and Explore Professionalism. Layla Miller, Hailee Greiner and Melvin in Introduction to Business presentation.
Third Place
Melvin in Agribusiness. Miller in Introduction to FBLA and Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure.
Seth Feeken, chapter adviser, indicated the nine top three trophies are a school record. Greiner, Melvin, Miller and Rasby automatically qualify for the national leadership conference. The national event will be Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2 at San Antonio, Texas. Melvin and Miller earned their third consecutive national trip.
Feeken continued eight other students have an outside shot at advancing to nationals.
“(It’s) The best experience I’ve ever had at state!,” the adviser proclaimed.

Hannah Groth fourth in Advanced Accounting.
Clara Heller and Rylee Jeanneret sixth in Social Media Strategies.
Groth, Charlotte Metschke and Delani Sharples eighth in Business Plan.
Nicholas Kostuck, Elliott Brommer and Wyatt Fulton eighth in Visual Design.
“This is the most finalists we’ve had in years! Very proud of this group!!,” Feeken continued.
Sharples was honorable mention in Job Interview.
The adviser indicated it was the farthest I’ve ever had a student get in Job Interview. Of 203 entries, Sharples made semis and the top 40.
