Nemaha County Giving Hope Cancer Fund is inviting the community to gather as they host the second annual "Walk with Hope" on Saturday, April 18. This event unites the community in a shared mission: remembering loved ones who fought, honoring survivors, and supporting those currently fighting cancer.
The event will be held at the Auburn City Rec Complex, featuring a night of reflection and family fun begining at 6 PM. At 7 p.m., they will have a Survivor Lap, a celebratory walk dedicated to those who have fought and continue to fight the disease.
One of the best features of the walk is the trail of luminaries. For a $5 donation, participants can dedicate a light to a loved one and will beautifully light the trail at the complex. It truly creates a meaningful and peaceful experience for everyone who attends. Anyone can purchase luminaries by going to the Facebook event page, at Happy Life Nutrition on Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or at then event.
There will be a variety of food vendors, including fish by Noha Vice and Crew, The Spotted Cow, Mother Talisa’s Wood Fired Pizza, and L & L Visayan Express, so come hungry! Be sure to save room for a sweet treat from Treats by Ashley’s.
This event is more than a fundraiser; it is a community gathering to honor and remember those who are fighting/have fought this disease. The evening’s MC will be Nathan Seitz and feature DJ and music by Katy Wessels, face painting by the AHS Art club, s’mores, and popcorn.
All proceeds go toward spreading hope and support throughout the area.
