Candidates for Nemaha County Attorney shared their experience and approaches to public safety, prosecution and community engagement during a recent forum, highlighting both common ground and differences in emphasis. The forum took place on Wednesday, April 8, at Auburn City Hall as part of the Candidate Conversation series hosted by the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. The election for Nemaha County Attorney will essentially be decided in the upcoming primary, as there are no Democratic party candidates on the ballot.
Seth Hawkins, a deputy county attorney in Otoe County, pointed to his broad legal experience as a prosecutor, including handling cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies and juvenile and civil matters.
“I have prosecuted criminal offenses of all types, at all levels, at all stages,” Hawkins said, adding that he has also worked closely with county boards, law enforcement and diversion programs.
