Bulldog Opponents Struggle to Put Up Runs as Auburn Earns Fifth Straight Win

The Bulldogs have improved to 8-5 after winning five of their last six games. Auburn started the week with a 10-run win over Raymond Central on Monday, April 6 before adding their fourth straight win on Tuesday over Falls City. The boys went 1-1 at the Wood Bat Tournament in St. Joseph, Missouri against out-of-state competition.

Jack Hilgenfeld and Jackson Warner combined for five hits and five RBI as Auburn put up 12 runs against the Mustangs. Mason Schultz struck out seven batters and allowed only two runs on three hits in his six innings at the mound to earn the win as the starting pitcher.

Auburn fell behind 2-1 after the second inning, but tied the game up in the third before putting up five unanswered runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Bulldogs added five more runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach and come out with the 12-2 win.
