JCC Boys Basketball Season Wrap Up

Johnson County Central's boys basketball team finished the 2025-2026 season with a 14-10 record, a .583 winning percentage. The Thunderbirds completed a record of 7-2-0  on their home basketball court; a 4-5-0  record during their away games; a 3-2-0 record in neutral games; and 2-1-0 record in league games. They were the Division A champions in the Weeping Water Holiday Tournament and Mudecas A division participants.
The junior varsity boys completed the season with a 9-6 record. The C team finished the season with a 5-3 record and were crowned as the JCC 9-10 tournament champions.
“I am pleased by the effort and toughness demonstrated by this year's team. We were able to put together a 14-10 record while playing against very good competition most every night. I want to thank our seniors for their leadership on this year's team. We will be watching for great things from them in the future,” said Coach Kirk Faris.
A special individual accomplishment this season was Wes Swanson finishing his high school basketball career with 1,464 points which places him second on the all-time JCC scoring list.
The Thunderbirds totaled 24 games this season. They made 479 of 1,130 field goals at 42 percent; They made 343 of 690 two point field goals at 50 percent; 127 of 440 three point field goals at 29 percent; 180 of 303 freethrows at 59 percent; 1,247 in total points with 52.0 points per game. In rebounding the Thunderbirds totaled 183 offensive rebounds and 393 defensive rebounds for 577 total rebounds, averaging 24.0 rebounds per game. The Thunderbirds totaled 30 blocks with 1.3 blocks per game; 193 total steals at 8.0 steals per game; 296 deflections, 264 assists with 11.0 assists per game; 205 turnovers, 19 charges, 298 personal fouls.
