Auburn Mayor; Johnson and Nemaha County Offices Have Contested Primaries

The Tuesday, May 12, primary election will include several contested races in Johnson and Nemaha counties.

Those include Auburn mayor, the Republican nominations for Nemaha County attorney and Nemaha County District 3 commissioner, and the Republican nominations for Johnson County District 3 commissioner and Johnson County Clerk.

In the Nemaha County attorney’s race, incumbent Angelo Ligouri is challenged by Seth Hawkins. Incumbent District 3 Commissioner Michael Weiss will go up against Marvin Bohling, Kim Buchmeier and Philip Gerdes. Bohling served on the commissioners from 2011 through 2019. Both primary winners advance to the Tuesday, Nov. 3 general election, where they will have no opposition.
