Two Auburn Seniors Earn Perfect ACT Scores, Presidential Scholarships
TWO BULLDOG seniors were recognized for their academic achievement of a perfect ACT score and awarded the Presidential Scholarship from the University of Nebraska System. Pictured left to right are; AHS Principal Scott Siegel, Dr. Jeffery Gold, president of the University of Nebraska System; Jack Hayes of Auburn, son of Danny and Nikki Hayes; Grace Zhang of Auburn, daughter of Mao and Zhi Zhang, David Patton, superintendent of Auburn Public Schools; and Dr. Harnoon Dhaliwal Presidential Scholars program lead at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.

A perfect ACT score is considered a once-in-a-generation achievement and this year, Auburn High School has two.

Grace Zhang and Jack Hayes each earned a perfect 36 on the ACT, placing them among approximately .02% of students nationwide who reach that mark. Their achievement was recognized during a special program that also included the presentation of University of Nebraska President’s Scholarships. This includes the full cost of attendance for up to four years with three inclusive summer programs, plus an annual stipend.

School officials said the accomplishment represents more than test performance.
