The Auburn girls wrestling program has their first individual state champion in sophomore Hadley Mazzulla, who won the state title in the Class B 105 pound division at the 2026 NSAA Girls State Wrestling Championships in Omaha last week. Mazzulla went 4-0 at state including a win over JCC’s Alejandra Reyes by decision to earn her first state title, finishing the season atop the state medal podium with a 45-1 record.
Johnson County Central’s Haylee Trew came away from the tournament with a gold medal of her own, winning the Class B 100 pound weight class with a 5-1 decision over Hayleigh Darling of Yutan. Trew, who took second at the tournament in 2025, went 4-0 at the competition and finished her season with a 53-1 record.
At 105 pounds, JCC’s Alejandra Reyes also found a place in the finals with three wins preceeding. There she faced off against Mazzulla from Auburn. The match was close all the way to the end, but after six minutes of hard wrestling, Mazzulla came out on top with a score of 6-3. Reyes earned a silver medal for her efforts, ending her season with a record of 54-2.
